Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
Cognitive Analytic Therapy is a form of time-limited therapy which is used to treat a wide range of mental health concerns. Typically lasting either 16 or 24 sessions.

CAT can be effective for:
-
Low self-esteem and low mood
-
Depression and anxiety
-
Emotional neglect, abandonment and loss
-
Witnessing and experiencing traumatic events
-
Relationship issues
What Therapy with me is like...
In cognitive analytic therapy with me, we’ll explore your personal history, including your past relationships, to understand how they affect your adult life. We’ll consider you as a whole person and work to maximise your supportive patterns and change your hindering ones, aiming to increase your psychological flexibility and emotional awareness.
Â
Therapy is a respectful and thoughtful process, a collaboration between us. We’ll think and learn together to help you make choices about your life, wellbeing, mental health, and relationships. In CAT, we believe that our patients really do know themselves and can think about themselves, when they are given the tools and environment to do it. Difficult relationships or life events may have prevented you from developing these tools, which CAT can help you to learn and use.
Â
The therapy space is yours. I’ll be an active facilitator, and we’ll work together to find a flexible focus that feels safe and containing.
Â
I hope you’ll leave therapy with a greater sense of understanding, empathy, and compassion for yourself and your life, and tools for positive change.
"I offer a calm, judgement free and nurturing space for exploration and hope for the future".
